 Shooting non-fiction TV - How to make a cup of tea

1) Use your phone or camera to shoot a short (one minute) excerpt from a non-fiction TV show  -  magazine, news, documentary, special interest etc.  The task is to practice your camera technique so pick something simple as your subject - like 'how to make the perfect cup of tea. 

Practice some of the techniques below to cover your sequence: 

Shooting actuality: This is where you are on location and covering what is happening.  Often on television, this will be someone showing the audience what they are doing or discussing a relevant subject. There are some good tips here

Piece to camera: This is usually a scripted or planned monologue delivered by a 'presenter' and addressed directly at the audience. There is an example here

Sit down interview: The subject/interviewee looks across/past the camera into space in the frame, they answer questions to someone behind/to the side of the camera.  There are some top tips here.

Focus on getting well-framed shots.  

2) Edit your sequence using premiere Pro. 

3) Export using youtube of vimeo setting and embed it in your blog.
